Examining temporary employment in EU member states: A longitudinal perspective

This paper examines temporary employment in EU Member States between 2004 and 2023 using longitudinal data from EU-SILC. It traces how the share of temporary employment has changed over time, both at the aggregate level and across countries, highlighting persistent cross-country differences. It also explores how these patterns differ by sex, age and education, showing that temporary employment is concentrated among specific groups.
